Summary
This Lucario ex (SVP 017) is a premier example of the card. While it presents as a Gem Mint candidate at first glance, microscopic factory imperfections on the reverse edges and a single corner speckle necessitate a 9.5 Mint+ grade under NGA's cynical standards.
Subgrades
Centering
9.5
Front centering is exceptional, nearly 50/50. Reverse shows a negligible shift toward the top-left, approximately 52/48, well within Mint+ tolerances.
Corners
9.5
Corners are structurally sharp. Microscopic white speck visible on the bottom-right reverse corner under magnification prevents a perfect 10.
Edges
9.5
Edges are extremely clean with no visible silvering on the front. Minor factory roughness on the right-side reverse edge prevents a Gem Mint designation.
Surface
9.5
Holographic finish is vibrant with no visible scratches or print lines. A single faint factory dimple on the reverse blue border keeps this from a 10.
Print Quality
10
Text is crisp and ink saturation is perfect. No evidence of ghosting or ink hickeys.
