Summary
Despite the cynical search for flaws, this Starmie 053/264 is a premier example. The minor centering variance on the reverse and a micro-dot on one corner are the only factors preventing a 'Black Label' equivalent, but it easily maintains a GEM MT 10 status under NGA standards.
Subgrades
Centering
9.5
Front centering is exceptional, measuring approximately 50/50. However, the reverse exhibits a slight top-to-bottom shift, approximately 55/45, which prevents a perfect 10 subgrade.
Corners
9.5
All four corners are structurally sharp. Under magnification, the bottom-right corner on the reverse shows a microscopic trace of white, typical of modern factory cutting but technically a flaw.
Edges
10
Edges are pristine. No evidence of silvering on the front yellow borders and zero chipping or nicks on the blue reverse borders.
Surface
10
Flawless surface. No print lines, scratches, or wax stains detected. The gloss is uniform across the entire card face and back.
Print Quality
10
High clarity with no ink hickeys or registration errors. Text is sharp and the 'Rapid Strike' logo is perfectly rendered.
