Summary
This Eternatus from Surging Sparks (141/191) is a premier example of modern printing. While the front presents as a Gem Mint 10, the reverse side contains the minor factory-level imperfections—specifically micro-whitening on one corner and a faint edge texture—that necessitate a 9.5 Mint+ grade under strict NGA standards.
Subgrades
Centering
9.5
Front centering is exceptional, nearly 50/50. Reverse shows a negligible shift toward the top-left, approximately 52/48, which is well within Mint+ tolerances.
Corners
9.5
Corners are structurally sharp. Microscopic white speck visible on the bottom-left reverse corner under magnification prevents a perfect 10.
Edges
9.5
Edges are extremely clean with no visible silvering on the front. Minor factory texture roughness on the right reverse edge prevents a Gem Mint designation.
Surface
9.5
Holofoil is vibrant with no deep scratches. A single faint print line is detectable on the reverse blue border under raking light.
Print Quality
10
Ink saturation is perfect. Text is crisp with no bleeding or registration errors. The illustration by Akira Egawa is rendered with full clarity.
