Summary
This 1991 Upper Deck McDonald's Hologram Wayne Gretzky (McH-01) is a high-grade specimen. The grade is held back from Gem Mint status primarily by minor edge silvering and slight vertical centering bias. The surface remains remarkably clean for this sensitive foil-based issue, justifying a Mint 9.0 overall.
Subgrades
Centering
9
The vertical alignment is slightly bottom-heavy, approximately 60/40. Horizontal centering is strong but the right-side border strip shows a minor tilt relative to the hologram field.
Corners
9.5
Rounded factory corners are consistent with the 1991 McDonald's Upper Deck hologram design. Micro-white fuzz is visible on the top-right corner under magnification.
Edges
9
Minor silvering and rough factory cutting visible along the right vertical edge. The top edge shows slight burring near the center.
Surface
9
Typical light surface scratches inherent to the hologram finish. A small smudge is present near the 'McH-01' identifier. No deep pitting or moisture damage detected.
Print Quality
9.5
The hologram clarity is high with strong color shift. Text registration for 'Wayne Gretzky' and 'Center' is sharp with no bleeding.
