Summary
This 1990 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Gretzky #2 is a premier example. While the microscopic corner wear and a singular print defect prevent a Pristine 10, the elite edge quality and near-perfect centering justify a 9.5 Mint+ designation.
Subgrades
Centering
9.5
Front centering is approximately 52/48 left-to-right and 50/50 top-to-bottom. Reverse shows a slight shift toward the bottom-left corner, but remains within Mint+ tolerances.
Corners
9.5
Upper right corner shows microscopic white fiber exposure under magnification. Remaining three corners are exceptionally sharp with no visible blunting or rounding.
Edges
10
Factory fresh edges with zero evidence of chipping or silvering. The O-Pee-Chee rough cut is non-existent on this specimen, providing a rare smooth-cut finish.
Surface
9.5
High gloss retention on the front. A single, minute print dot is visible in the white border area near the 'Edmonton Times' masthead. No scratches or wax stains detected.
Print Quality
10
Exceptional registration. The green and blue inks are vibrant and perfectly aligned with no bleeding or ghosting in the text blocks.
