Summary
This 1992-93 Upper Deck Mario Lemieux #433 is a premier example. While the edges and print clarity are flawless, the presence of a singular micro-fleck on one corner and a minor surface print line necessitates a 9.5 grade rather than a Gem Mint 10.
Subgrades
Centering
9.5
Front centering is approximately 52/48 left-to-right and 50/50 top-to-bottom. While within Gem Mint tolerances, it is not a perfect 50/50 split. Reverse centering is excellent.
Corners
9.5
All four corners are exceptionally sharp. Microscopic inspection of the bottom-right corner on the reverse shows the faintest hint of white, preventing a perfect 10 subgrade.
Edges
10
Factory fresh edges with no evidence of chipping or silvering. The white card stock remains pristine along all perimeters.
Surface
9.5
High-gloss finish is intact. A single, faint hairline print line is visible in the dark background area near the helmet under direct light. No pitting or scratches detected.
Print Quality
10
Registration is perfect. Text is crisp and the hologram on the reverse is fully intact with no oxidation or lifting.
