Summary
This 1998 McDonald's Upper Deck Wayne Gretzky Teammates Paul Coffey (T10) is a premier example. While the surface and edges show the most minute factory-level imperfections, the overall eye appeal and structural integrity justify a Mint+ 9.5 grade.
Subgrades
Centering
9
Front centering is slightly biased toward the left border (approx 60/40). Reverse centering is better but shows a minor top-to-bottom shift.
Corners
9.5
Corners are exceptionally sharp. Only the bottom right corner on the reverse shows microscopic white fibers under magnification.
Edges
9.5
Clean cuts throughout. Minor factory burr on the upper right edge of the reverse prevents a Gem Mint designation.
Surface
9.5
High-gloss finish is well-preserved. A single faint hairline scuff is present on the dark background of the obverse, visible only at a specific light angle.
Print Quality
10
Exceptional registration. The gold foil stamping for 'Paul Coffey' and the Upper Deck logo is crisp with no flaking or bleeding.
