Summary
This 1998 McDonald's Upper Deck Wayne Gretzky Teammates Esa Tikkanen (T6) earns an 8.5 NM-MT+ grade. While the centering is high-end, the grade is held back by a rough factory cut on the right edge and micro-wear on the corners, which is common for this foil-heavy set.
Subgrades
Centering
10
Front centering is a perfect 50/50 across all axes. The white border on the right side is mathematically identical to the left, and the top/bottom alignment of the 'Centennial Standouts' text is dead-on. Reverse centering is equally flawless.
Corners
10
All four corners are exceptionally sharp. Under magnification, there is zero evidence of white-tipping or pressure points. The points are needle-sharp, meeting the highest NGA standard for a Gem Mint designation.
Edges
8
Visible rough cut along the right vertical edge on the front. Minor chipping/silvering present on the top edge of the reverse.
Surface
8.5
Front foil surface has light hairline scratches visible under magnification near the 'Teammates' text. Reverse has a small print dot in the orange field.
Print Quality
9
Good registration and color depth. Foil stamping is crisp, though the background image is naturally dark.
