Summary
This 1994 Upper Deck 'Baseball: The American Epic' Ty Cobb card is in spectacular Gem Mint condition. Released as a tie-in to the acclaimed Ken Burns PBS documentary series, this card features a striking historical photograph of Cobb from 1909. The card has survived in pristine condition, showing virtually no signs of handling or wear.
The centering, corners, and edges are nearly flawless, which is particularly difficult to find on cards from this era featuring full-bleed dark borders. This specimen represents an elite-grade example of a beautifully designed historical tribute card.

Subgrades
Centering
9.5
The front features a full-bleed design on three sides with a left-aligned border strip that is perfectly aligned. The back centering is outstanding, showing only a very slight shift to the left.
Corners
9.5
All four corners are extremely sharp to the naked eye. Under magnification, there is only the absolute faintest touch of white on the top-left corner tip on the reverse side.
Edges
9.5
Edges are exceptionally clean and crisp. This is highly impressive given the dark, full-bleed imagery on the front, which typically highlights even minor chipping.
Surface
9.5
The surface retains its original high gloss. No scratches, scuffs, dimples, or print lines are visible on either the front or the back.
Print Quality
10
Superb print quality. The black-and-white photography on the front has excellent contrast and clarity, and the text on the reverse is perfectly crisp with no ink bleeding.
