Summary
This 1992-93 O-Pee-Chee Mario Lemieux #240 is a high-end example of the set. While the corners are exceptional, the standard O-Pee-Chee edge roughness and a slight centering bias toward the top-bottom axis on the front limit the overall grade to a Mint 9.
Subgrades
Centering
9
Front centering is approximately 55/45 left-to-right and 60/40 top-to-bottom. Back centering shows a slight shift toward the top right corner, consistent with a Mint 9 designation.
Corners
9.5
Extremely sharp corners for the O-Pee-Chee stock. Only microscopic white fibers visible under magnification on the bottom right corner prevent a perfect 10.
Edges
9
Typical O-Pee-Chee rough cut is present but minimal. Minor chipping visible on the right vertical edge prevents a higher subgrade.
Surface
9
High gloss remains intact. A faint print line is detectable in the black background area near Lemieux's shoulder, and minor surface snow is visible in the dark ink fields.
Print Quality
9.5
Excellent registration and color saturation. The red 'MVP' banner is vibrant and the text is crisp with no bleeding.
